If you’re a reader of my blog, then you would have followed along as I took my first international trip with my husband earlier this year. I had pretty much planned it 5 months in advanced and I had a written itinerary of everything we wanted to do while we were there. While that itinerary and plan went out the window about halfway through, we had an amazing time and we’re constantly reminiscing on the events and memories that only we share.
While I admit, (if you’ve seen my travel vlogs you would know) I was extremely timid and afraid with it being our first time out of the states that once we returned I felt I had missed out or not completely involved myself in all the rare activities that were available. For instance, we went snorkeling in the Andaman Sea, but I was so afraid of drowning even though I had on a life jacket (and let’s be honest the weight I’ve put on has left me quite buoyant) that I didn’t get the best view of the fishes and didn’t get any underwater photos or video to remember the moment by. I have since learned to relax and just go with the flow when it comes to experiencing new adventures, because you never know if it will be your only time to experience it.
It’s only been a few months since that excursion, but we’re already thinking about our next exit from the states. Several options are currently on the table, I won’t get into them right now, but I’m excited for what’s to come. The world is so big and there are so many sites to see, I don’t want to waste time being fearful. Bitten by the wander bug.
