Fresh Pressed Juice Recipes | Taste the Rainbow

fresh juice recipes, Fresh Pressed Juice Recipes

I absolutely LOVE juice! It started with orange and cranberry juice when I was just a little babe, and then moved on to Hawaiian Punch in middle school and as the years progressed (as did my sweet tooth) my juice choices became even unhealthier.

Within the last year I’ve really been getting into the whole “cold pressed juice” craze. I watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and was really inspired by his results and his journey to becoming a healthier person. I could probably never do a 30 day juice fast because I love food, but I’m willing to spend my money at an ‘over priced’ fresh juice bar instead of at an ‘over priced’ Starbucks. At least with fresh pressed juice I know I’m not getting all the additives, artificial sugars and preservatives.

This month for my birthday, hubby bought me the juicer I’ve been eyeing for the last 6 months! The Omega 8006 in black and silver, and I wasted no time juicing everything I could find in the produce aisles.

Here are 6 yummy recipes I’ve put together ranging from fruity to earthy to sour. Of course you can make changes to the recipe to suit your taste buds. Enjoy 🙂

DSC04357Summer Refresher (sweet)

  • 1/4 small watermelon
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 7 small strawberries

DSC04358Smooth Pineapple (sweet)

  • 1 small pineapple
  • 1/2 large navel orange
  • 1 slice of Granny Smith apple (I usually have to do this to push through all the soft pineapple, but you can skip)
  • Ginger (I used about a thumb tip size)

Eye Opener (slightly sweet with an earthy bite *ginger)

  • 3 or 4 organic carrots
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/2 Navel Orange
  • 1/2 Granny Smith apple
  • Ginger (I used about a thumb tip size)

Margarita Sour (sour)

  • 1 cucumber
  • 1/2 Granny Smith apple
  • 1/2 a juiced lemon (I just squeezed out all the juice with my hand)

Kale Yeah! (can be sweet or very ‘green’ depending on how much Kale you add)

  • 1 bunch of organic Kale
  • 1 sweet pineapple

Mother Nature (Earthy and slightly sweet)

  • 2 beet roots (cleaned and peeled)
  • 2 organic carrots
  • 1 squeeze of 1/4 a lemon
  • 1/2 Granny Smith apple
  • 1/4 a cucumber

This is all my leftover fiber from the fresh pressed juice I made.

  • Try to use as much organic produce as possible, but if you can’t, only juice fruits and veggies you can peel.
  • The jars I used are 8oz, but these recipes make double that if not more.
